Meet Lauren Aiken
Hi, I'm Lauren! I'm married to Matt, and we have two little girls, Nora and Amelia. My love for encouraging women through pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period began with my first pregnancy in 2011. I have personally had a wide range of experiences including carrying a baby over 42 weeks, induction, emergency caesarean section, and natural vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC). I have struggled through ever-fluctuating thyroid hormones, postpartum anxiety, and severe chronic postpartum pain. I have watched the miraculous growth and development of two precious girls who bring me much joy. And I have seen my marriage bear fruit as we have loved and served each other along the way. Through my experiences, God has grown my heart to love on and care for women during the life-changing transition that is birth and early motherhood. Sweet mom-to-be, I have written a letter to you here.
I believe there is power in grace-filled words and encouragement, and that when women have such support, they are able to put off worry, fear, anxiety, and guilt and reclaim JOY in birth and motherhood.
I am certified through DONA International and have had Bradley Method birth coaching. I have breastfeeding training through the Academy of Certified Birth Educators. In addition, I have worked with clients using Hypnobabies birth techniques. I support home birth and also have experience with many Nashville hospitals including Vanderbilt, St. Thomas Midtown, Centennial, and Williamson.
I love baking and creating with my daughters, trying new restaurants with my husband, roaming the Franklin Farmer's Market, going on family hikes, and enjoying conversations with friends over cups of coffee!
